WORKSHEETS Bedroom Organization
Keeping clothing and accessories neat and orderly can be frustrating. We have items for many occassions and seasons. In fact, it is possible to have a wide selection of T-shirts with some for yard work, others for exercise, and still others for an evening out. When you begin sorting, take the time to gather things that are very similar and evaluate them as one group. Put away your favorites and then look at the items that remain. Are any of them worn and old? Do they fit well? Do you wear everything regularly? Use the Sorting Labels - Keep, Undecided, Sell, Donate, and Trash - to create separate piles. Place a check mark next to each category when finished. Parting with just a few items from each group will add up and provide more space for the items you enjoy.

WORKSHEETS Basement & Storage Units
The variety of items people store is vast. Many items on the included checklist may not apply to your situation. To begin, cross out the items you do not have so you can focus on the items you need to sort. Then start with the fastest and largest items to sort. Your goal is to reduce our household inventory with the least amount of effort to feel like your are making great progress. What specific goal do you want to accomplish today? Two hours of focused attention is better than spending hours feeling overwhelmed. Try to avoid pulling everything into the middle of the room unless your goal is simply to group like with like to store and then sort later.
EASY STEPS TO ORGANIZE 1.
Declutter first: a. Newspaper b. Magazines c. Files d. Office supplies e. Expired food f. Damaged clothing or home goods 2. Create Sorting Labels with colored markers. Use one color for each label. Keep, Undecided, Sell, Donate, Recycle, and Trash. 3. Gather like with like. Focus on one group at a time. It is easier to make decisions when you see your full inventory of just one item such as pens or pencils. 4. Put away your favorites and distribute the remaining items into Undecided, Sell, Donate, or Trash. 5. If you are keeping things in ‘Undecided,’ consider how often you use the items. Is it worth keeping? How long have you stored it without using it? If you want more time to consider items, label a bin with date and contents. You can re-evaluate it later or simply wait to see if you want or need it later. 6. Be sure to label everything clearly. You will save time and frustration when you want to find something in the future.
